In devotions, we have been focusing on how biblical characters show integrity. I decided to talk about Queen Esther and Noah. They are great role models and perfect examples of people who show integrity. Having integrity in life is very important in life because you will be trusted with big responsibilities, people with feel safe around you, others will know that you know right from wrong, and you will always have it right with God. A person with integrity will have eternal life. Integrity is important to me because nothing is hidden from God, I want to be that friend that is always honest and trustworthy and has my mates backs.
Integrous Bible Characters
Integrity is the quality of being truthful and doing the right thing even when no one is watching and many people still don’t show integrity. It is important to have integrity because even if no one can see God can always see you and is always watching. I am going to write about a couple biblical characters who show integrity. I have decided to talk about Queen Esther and Noah. I have chosen these characters because I believe they are both great role models and stay somewhat true to themselves and others. In this essay, I will be talking about these characters' backgrounds and how they showed integrity.
The first person that showed integrity was Queen Esther. Esther was secretly Jewish and hid her nationality and family background for a long time. Esther was taken to the king’s harem before she was taken to the king’s room. After she was taken to the king’s room she was made queen. An evil and deceitful man named Haman was honored as the highest official in the land. He felt dishonored when Mordecai, Esther’s adopted father, decided not to bow down and show him respect. Haman came up with an ungodly plan to destroy all Jews. He persuaded the king to sign off on the law, but he hid most of the truth. When the law was made many were in distress. Esther went to the king and begged for mercy and asked that all jews will be safe, she also admitted to her being a jew. Esther could have asked for her safety only and that she would not be killed, but instead she pulled through for all jews in the kingdom.
My second and last person is Noah. Noah was a man of integrity and was the only person that could not be blamed for anything. Noah followed the way of God and always stayed true to him. One day God said, “ I have decided to destroy all living creatures as they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth.” Noah was told to build a large boat from cypress wood and to waterproof it with tar. God planned to kill everyone except Noah, his wife, their sons, and their wives. He took a pair of every animal- a female and a male- into the boat to keep them alive. He warned people of the flood but no one believed him, they didn’t believe that water would fall from the heavens to destroy the earth. All they did was laugh, and he was probably ashamed. Noah was 601 when the flooding had ended. He managed to keep himself, his family, and those few animals alive over a long period of time.
In conclusion, Queen Esther and Noah are great examples of those who showed integrity. They are both righteous and stay true to their word and the word of God. When big decisions had to be made they both did the right thing. I believe that showing integrity throughout your life is something we all should do. Being integral can benefit you in so many ways. I believe that we can all show integrity and be true to not only ourselves but to everyone.
